Anthony Body's Story

Growing up in Canada, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that my life’s journey would take me to Arizona. 

Although coming from a family of immigrants, maybe it wasn't so far fetched.

My parents immigrated to Canada from Eastern Europe with very little other than a few belongings and a dream of a new life. 

They met on a blind date and, as they say, the rest is history. I was born in the Canadian capital of Ottawa where we lived until I was 14 before we moved to Victoria, British Columbia. 

As a Canadian kid, I grew up watching and playing hockey. I always enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was swimming, or going for hikes; there was never a shortage of things to do.

From a young age, my parents took me to open houses as something fun to do on the weekends. In retrospect, maybe that helped set the stage for my future career. 

Fast forward to 2008 - I graduated college and was looking for work. 

I applied to companies in Canada and the United States, before a company in Tucson, Arizona offered me a job! It wasn’t much; just a temporary job to get me started but it was a door into the US!

When I arrived in Tucson, I instantly fell in love with the city’s kindness and how welcoming everyone was. I knew I had found a very special place. I bought my first home in 2009; a modest 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom townhouse in a quiet neighborhood in the Catalina Foothills and spent several months renovating it to make it my own. 

I met my wife, Kim, in 2011 and we got married in 2014. 

We were happily living in our townhouse until, in 2015, my company offered me a promotion, but it would require us to move to Colorado. 

I connected with a local Realtor, Ryan, to sell our home. He did such a good job addressing all of our concerns and making what was otherwise a very chaotic time, stress free. 

Our time in Colorado, however, was short lived. Two years later, the company we moved for reorganized and I was, yet again, at a crossroads.

We agreed to come back to Tucson and start over. I called that amazing Realtor who sold our home, and let him know that we were returning and that we needed to buy a home.

It was at that time that I asked him about pursuing a career in real estate. 

Ryan did such a wonderful job setting the standard for what a Realtor should be; helping us navigate two transactions seamlessly through some very turbulent times. I had no idea a Realtor could have such a meaningful impact on people’s lives. 

I wanted to help people the way Ryan helped us. 

My experience with our Realtor during times of major transition in our family’s life is why I entered the business. 

I saw what a profound effect a great Realtor could have on people’s lives and I knew that’s what I wanted to do. I take that experience with me whenever I meet a new client and it’s why I work hard every day to always grow and do better.

Today I am grateful to be helping people in Tucson and the Catalina Foothills move from one home to the next.
